I spend most of my time online MUSHing. If you'd like to see my incomplete list of characters, try my MUSH page. The rest of my time is taken up by EverQuest (see below) and well, Merlin.
I started a job at INS (International Network Services, not *that* INS. I've dealt with them more then enough :) ) in November of 97. It's a good company, and it's always good having a boss you like. Bad part at the time was that the guy I was working for had the same Kiersey type as I do, so he always knew when I was up to something. ;) We've got eaten by Lucent Technologies, and it's sucked a lot. Not like I think there's any way MY job is going out the window. Lucent wants a foothold in enterprise software. We're it. :) I'm a manager now, which basically means I'm just doing more work, but I also get to tell people off on a regular basis.
I used to work at NETCOM OnLine Communications. I was in electronic (email) support when I got hired, but after a year I was promoted to Second Level Support, a group who support the front line reps, more or less. It's where I gained one of my nicknames - Zaney. You know a name has stuck when you apply for a higher level position and your future boss writes down 'Zaney' on your interview sheet.
I'm a nuisance to the general public. I've got my technical writing certification from De Anza (Suitable for framing!)
Most of my family lives in Sacramento. Here's a great picture of my brother Andrew. A friend gave him the jacket for Christmas, 1996.
I also love Phantom of the Opera. I'd played some of the music from it in high school, and it was a wonderful piece. Being very very without cash, I still had to have a recording of it, so I bought myself the 2CD set of the orignal London cast's recording. I thoroughly enjoyed it. :) So, Liz insisted we had to go see it at the Curran Theatre in San Fransisco, since the show is closing. If you have to see one show in your life, see Phantom. It's truly amazing. It's nice to know the story better now, as well since it only increases my appreciation of the London Cast's CD and especially Michael Crawford as the Phantom. My only regret is that I didn't get to see him actually perform it. There's a very nice page about Michael (with some absolutely hilarious stories) over here.
If you want to know more personalish stuff, go here. If you want to know what I want for Christmas, look here. For other stuff that's in my .plan, but I'm too lazy to break up into pages, look here.
I have 2 PCS now, and here's some of the stuff I'm enjoying playing lately. (In all that copious amount of free time I have.) For the geeks, it's a PII 500, 60 gig HD, Soundblaster 128, Riva TNT 3d card, mostly scsi system with 128 megs of RAM. Yay. The second machine's a Duron 850, 256 ram, I forget the rest of the specs because, well, I'm lazy now, and Merlin puts my machines together for me, and I tend to trust him on that one.
I actually quit playing for several months due to the things going on in my life, but I've started playing again because the people I'm hanging out with are playing also. We're part of a wonderful guild, Ancient Prophecy. AP is made up from about 4 or 5 smaller guilds that were getting limited by small player bases. AP's pretty amazing. And well, who can argue with the awesome job Dubar and Chronk did with the website?
