Photo Gallery: Merlin's Photo Gallery

Jun 29, 2002

I wore this Victorian costume for a LARP recently. It was simple but came out smashingly well.

From the left: Josh Bihun, Pamela Herron, ME, Lynette Tait. Also known as Lynette, (who is my girlfriend), Lynette's mom (the bear freak) and her brother (the Kevin Smith alike). This photo is from Northern California Rennaissance Faire, Labor Day weekend 1999.

I don't know martial arts of any sort, except for having done a couple sessions of Aiki-Jujutsu with Andrew Boardman (Satan@DinoMUSH) back when I was still in CO, and I've forgotten most of that as it is. Apparently, however, when I'm drunk and happy, the camera is considered a deadly foe and must be defended against. Thus, the Merlin-Fu Kung Fu stance (only useful while sitting on your ass) is demonstrated. The gentleman to the right, in the background, is Christopher Hatty.

This is also in Central Park. We went to see The Tempest that day, staring Patrick Stewart. The play was awesome, but because it was roughly 105 degrees in New York City, I was dying and couldn't sleep. Thus, I appear to be brooding and ready to kill the photographer (Sheryl, AKA Loris) and it's entirely possible that I was.

I was the best man at Chris Hanson's wedding in June, 1998. There are those who say I look pretty good in a tux. Kathleen Connolly was the bride's maid.

Another Chris Hanson wedding photo. I don't like this picture as much. My face is way too round.

Football geeks! From the left: Bill Recardi, Austin Collins, Morgan Collins, Scott McComas, Heather Bloom, ME, Chris Page, Eric (?), Dave Argent. We (used to) get together every Saturday or something like that and play football. Now we sit around and don't--its been quite a few months. Also, missing from this photo but often present is Michael Ellis.

Taken in 1994, this is me in semi-garb in Jersey City, NJ. I actually lived in that hole. The sword I'm carrying is a plastic collapsible sword, but it actually looks pretty good in the picture. People teased me about wearing a dress in the shot--in actuality, it's a pair of shorts.

This is myself and Rob Donaghue (AKA Moose) in front of Delacorte castle in Central Park. The castle itself only really looks like a castle from this angle, but it made an absolutely wonderful photo. Rob recently moved from the east coast to the west, which is awesome. I'm glad he's in my social circle again.

I got this done on the last weekend of the '00 northern California Ren Faire. The artist only took half an hour per person, and got an excellent likeness of us both; right down to me squinting because it was too bright and my 5 o'clock shadow because it's late in the day. Primarily this was an early X-mas gift for Lynette because I knew she'd find it terribly cool, but to be honest I find it terribly cool as well, and I expect to cherish it forever.

This is old--Feb 1991. I believe. I found this on ch'od's site. Anyway, I was super skinny then. There was a reason for this. I wish I'd stayed that way tho, but I didn't realize, then, just how skinny I was and by the time I did realize I wasn't anymore. Go figure. Anyway, I'm the one in the gray shirt. And at this time, I cannot remember who more than about 20% of the people in this photo are.

Here we are before Rob (Moose) & Deborah's wedding. Brand new suit for the occasion, tho Lynette's dress was acquired for a Christmas party the year before.

Even so, the dress was widely considered best dress at the party, and nobody knew I'd clean up as well as I did!

What can I say about this picture? The love of my life in her favorite environment: The Beach!

This is a lovely shot that Blue Haired Angie got at the Carmel Beach in early March, 2002. She has approximately 1 million (okay, a few less than that) other shots as well at http://www.idiom.com/~faerie/images/misc/ocean/carmel-mar02, but I found this one to be the most striking. At least, to me. Check out some of the others, she got some pretty incredible shots for an amateur camera!

My sweetie has been taking belly dancing classes and getting into buying dance outfits. We took some photos of the most recent one and this is the one she liked a lot. There was another I liked more I think, but it's like the difference between chocolate ice cream and chocolate chip ice cream =)
