Merlin's Gaming ResourceCollectible Card Games![]() I only play two Collectible Card Games at the moment, but am considering picking up a third (which would be Legend of the Five Rings.) I have absolutely no restraint when it comes to buying cards, so in a very short time I manage to own one of the largest sets of Shadowfist cards of any of the locals (well over eight thousand cards, now). The only link I'm going to give for Shadowfist is Bryant Durrell's Shadowfist Page because he's already done all the footwork and it would be silly to repeat it. It's a wonderful page. Of course, he's also my housemate. I can be found almost every Wednesday night at Match Play, a local gaming center. We play a lot of Shadowfist, and I'd like to get into the Star Fleet Battles group there as well.Role Playing Games![]() While I don't really play this one anymore, I still have a large chunk of material for it, and I really do love the genre, at least in a literary sense. I would like to play more Cyberpunk at some point in the future, and perhaps I will get a chance to. I am a fan of all things Amber. I play Merlin on AmberMUSH, one of two (three?) TinyMUSHes (which are MUDs, despite what some people claim) dedicated to roleplaying in the Amber universe. I own both of the Amber DRPG source books, and I eagerly await the Rebma sourcebook that was promised so long ago. I also try to read and own copies of everything Roger Zelazny has written, though I have to admit some of his stories just fall a bit short. Still, the ones that are good are really good. ![]() The Babylon 5 Role Playing Game is now out and available! I'm just dying to run a one-shot campaign set in this rich and varied universe; there is so much to do and so much flavor that one can put into it. I also have my own game system that I am currently testing and writing--when a beta draft is ready, I'll post a copy here on the WEB site for people to download and read and most likely subsequently throw away. It is most likely the system I'll use, rather than The Babylon Project's system, since theirs seems cumbersome at best and unplayable at worst. I'm running a Feng Shui Campaign! Read all about it! I recently ran a small LARP with no real system. It wasn't as good as it should've been--too much RL interfering with my careful planning, dammit. So there wasn't a timeline or a good map of the mansion. However, if you want to know what I'm rambling about, go read all about MURDER Mudding
AmberMUSH has long been my home away from home for online role-play. I play Merlin there, as well as a number of other characters who are simply unimportant--or more importantly, dead--right now. The picture on the left is a mostly accurate anime representation of my longest running AmberMUSH character: Johann Blake Barimen. On AmberMUSH, I'm also responsible for having created the race of Dhemonhpu, or Noble Demons of Chaos--they're not exactly Zelazny-esque demons, I'm afraid, but much more classical in origin. My essay, Anatomy of a Demon, will tell you all you want to know about them--and probably more.
I can also be found on my own chat MUSH, Logrus MUSH (maelstrom.logrus.com 6666) and at TooMUSH or at DruidMUCK. Not necessarily in that order. Last modified: Thu Jun 3 16:43:16 1999 / Copyright © 2001 Earl Miles merlin@logrus.com |
